Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Shift Lead to support daily manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for coordinating production activities, providing direction to employees, maintaining workflow, and ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met.
The Production Shift Lead works closely with the Production Supervisor and serves as the primary operational point of contact when management is not on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily production activities, assign tasks, and monitor workflow to meet production goals.
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to production employees.
- Monitor batch processing, equipment operations, and production efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with production procedures, batch instructions, and quality standards.
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting and address operational concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, and shift reports.
- Reinforce workplace safety, housekeeping, attendance, and company standards.
- Communicate production issues, staffing concerns, and shift updates to the Production Supervisor.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and follow batch tickets, production instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety procedures and equipment operations.
- Basic math skills and ability to troubleshoot production issues.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., with assistance or equipment when necessary.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules as needed.
- Must comply with required PPE and respiratory protection standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Production Lead, Team Lead, or Shift Lead.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, adhesives production, or batch processing.
- Experience operating industrial manufacturing equipment and forklifts.
