About the role
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support our accounting team with day-to-day transactional accounting and shared services activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, accuracy, and working closely with Staff Accountants to keep financial operations running smoothly.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities:
· Process, post, and pay vendor bills accurately and timely
- Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries
- Prepare 1099 reports, including vendor setup and year-end reporting
- Assist with entity split schedules and shared services allocations
- Reconcile accounts payable and related general ledger accounts
- Provide general accounting support to Staff Accountants as needed
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Solid understanding of AP processes and basic accounting principles
- Experience with 1099 preparation and reporting preferred
- Comfortable working with multiple entities and cost allocations
- Proficient in accounting software and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a multi-entity or shared services environment
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems, NetSuite preferred
