About the role
- Deliver assigned process engineering work within approved hours, schedule, and quality requirements, and communicate progress and potential impacts to scope, schedule, budget, or quality to the Project Manager.
- Review the work of others for technical accuracy and compliance with established engineering practices and procedures.
- Serve as the process engineering interface among UOP Schedule A, Technical Services, Modular Engineering, detail design contractors, fabricators, suppliers, and customers, and support technical discussions as required.
- Review customer specifications against the Schedule A package, resolve gaps or inconsistencies, and coordinate required Schedule A deviation requests and approved changes.
- Develop Modular Process Flow Diagrams and participate in design reviews, providing process guidance on equipment functionality, heat tracing, insulation, and operating requirements.
- Develop and maintain process design deliverables, including line lists, utility summaries, auxiliary lists, maintenance schedules, and specifications for PSVs or other items by others, as required by the project.
- Establish process and design conditions for piping and equipment using Schedule A information and applicable operating procedures, including startup and regeneration requirements.
- Represent Modular Engineering in HAZOP reviews, coordinate responses to open recommendations, and implement approved action items.
- Lead process engineering support during detailed design by responding to technical queries and providing clarification, verification, and guidance to the detail design contractor.
- Review hydraulic calculations and reports for pumps, compressors, blowers, instrument circuits, control valves, flow elements, and pressure safety valve systems, and coordinate with relevant disciplines to resolve identified issues.
- Review 3D models and final P&IDs to verify compliance with process and Schedule A requirements, including equipment layout, piping configuration, minimum distances, connection orientation, free-draining requirements, and resolution of documented discrepancies.
- Prepare technical requirements, requests for quotation, and technical bid evaluations for additional licensors or process-related services when required.
- Support Modular project development and proposal activities through technical coordination with Sales and Sales Support, including development of OSBL conceptual designs based on ISBL information.
- Identify opportunities to improve process engineering work practices, design tools, and project execution quality.
