We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Advanced System Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise and operational technology (OT) infrastructure solutions across diverse industrial environments.
This position is responsible for providing technical leadership, engineering expertise, and project execution support for networking, virtualization, server infrastructure, and OT systems. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, project teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions for process industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Power Generation, Life Sciences, Metals & Mining, and Manufacturing.
The role requires strong technical expertise in enterprise networking, virtualization platforms, OT system integration, project execution, engineering deliverables, proposal support, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design & Engineering
- Design, implement, and support enterprise and industrial infrastructure solutions including networking, virtualization, compute, storage, and system administration.
- Develop detailed engineering deliverables including architecture diagrams, network layouts, bill of materials (BOM), design documents, test plans, and implementation procedures.
- Lead the deployment and integration of virtualized environments using VMware and Nutanix platforms.
- Design and implement resilient network architectures utilizing Layer-2/Layer-3 switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation.
OT & Industrial Systems Integration
- Support infrastructure deployment and integration for OT environments including:
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- SCADA Systems
- Historian Platforms
- Industrial Servers and Workstations
- Support Third-Party Interface Systems (TSI) including:
- CCTV Systems
- Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA)
- Fire & Gas Systems (FGS)
- HVAC Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Telecom and Industrial Communication Systems
- Ensure compliance with industrial cybersecurity and OT infrastructure best practices.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and project teams.
- Review engineering designs and deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and system integration issues.
- Act as the technical lead for medium to large-scale projects.
Project Execution
- Independently execute medium and large-scale projects from engineering through commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders during project execution.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, and startup activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Proposal & Estimation Support
- Support sales and proposal teams with technical solution development.
- Prepare infrastructure architecture recommendations, technical scopes, BOMs, effort estimates, and project execution strategies.
- Participate in customer discussions, technical clarifications, and solution presentations.
Remote & Field Support
- Provide remote troubleshooting and technical support for customer systems.
- Support on-site installation, commissioning, and system upgrades.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and problem resolution.
Must Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, or related Engineering discipline.
- 8-12+ years of experience in Industrial Infrastructure, Networking, Virtualization, or System Engineering.
- Strong experience with:
- Enterprise Networking
- Cisco Switching and Routing
- VMware Virtualization
- Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI)
- Windows Server Administration
- Storage and Backup Solutions
- Experience supporting industrial OT environments and critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP Networking
- VLANs, Routing, Firewalls, VPNs
- Network Redundancy Protocols
- Industrial Network Architectures
- Experience generating engineering documentation and project deliverables.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to independently handle multiple projects and customer engagements.
Preferred Certifications
The following certifications are highly desirable:
- CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate
- CCNP – Cisco Certified Network Professional
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
- OT Cybersecurity Certification (GICSP, IEC 62443, ISA/IEC Cybersecurity, or equivalent)
- Microsoft Azure or Cloud Infrastructure Certifications (Preferred)
