About the role
At ALSAC you do more than make a living; you make a difference.
We like people who are different…because we’re different, too. As one of the world’s most iconic and respected nonprofits, we know what it’s like to stand out. That’s why we’re looking at you. Your background, perspective, and desire to make an impact set you apart. As we work to help St. Jude cure childhood cancer, we're calling on the game-changers, innovators and visionaries to join our family. Not just for the kids of St. Jude, but also for you. Because at ALSAC, we develop and celebrate our employees. So, bring your whole, authentic self and become part of our shared mission: Finding cures. Saving children.®
Build relationships that advance the St. Jude mission. As Advisor, Area Development at ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, you will own and grow a $1M+ event-driven fundraising portfolio across the Delta Area—leading established programs, cultivating supporters, and opening new market opportunities.
If you thrive on face-to-face engagement and turning opportunities into measurable growth, this role puts you at the intersection of strategy and hands-on execution. Bring your relationship-building skills and resourcefulness to strengthen support across the communities you serve.
What You Will Do
Own and grow the portfolio
• Own revenue, stewardship, volunteer-engagement, and market-growth goals across the portfolio.
• Set annual program strategies based on revenue potential, relationship value, risk, seasonality, and market opportunity.
• Manage revenue pipelines, forecasts, budgets, and expense ratios; address gaps early.
• Develop sponsorship packages and donor proposals that connect supporter interests to the St. Jude mission.
Build relationships that produce results
• Cultivate donors, sponsors, executives, community leaders, media partners, and prospective supporters through regular face-to-face meetings.
• Maintain cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans; use a consultative approach to understand priorities, make asks, and address concerns.
• Recruit and equip volunteer leaders and committees to expand reach, revenue, and awareness.
Develop markets and new opportunities
• Identify corporate, community, volunteer, and fundraising opportunities in established and developing markets.
• Build local relationships and infrastructure where networks or programs do not yet exist.
• Use prospect research, local knowledge, and performance data to prioritize opportunities and build sustainable pipelines.
• Adapt enterprise programs to local markets while upholding brand and mission standards.
Lead high-impact fundraising programs and events
• Lead planning, execution, and evaluation of programs that may include golf, radio, community, university, leadership, and cultivation events.
• Establish timelines, revenue targets, volunteer structures, sponsor fulfillment plans, and contingencies.
• Coordinate partners, volunteers, vendors, and internal teams to deliver strong experiences and financial results; resolve obstacles as conditions change.
Prioritize and execute with discipline
• Allocate time, travel, and resources across high-revenue programs, emerging opportunities, and smaller initiatives based on strategic value.
• Maintain accurate CRM activity, financial records, commitments, and next steps.
• Communicate proactively, follow through, and represent ALSAC and St. Jude with integrity.
Territory and Travel
Regular day trips and overnight travel across assigned communities are required, along with some evening and weekend work for events and stakeholder engagements. The Advisor must work independently and stay organized and responsive while traveling.

• Strong project and portfolio management, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to use pipelines, budgets, forecasts, and performance data to guide decisions.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and manage shifting priorities.
