Position Summary
The Application Developer builds, maintains, and improves the internal business applications our employees rely on every day. This is a hands-on development role for someone who enjoys both writing code and talking with the people who use it: you will sit down with employees and business leaders, understand what they need, and turn it into practical, reliable solutions.
Working alongside WRG’s technology leadership, you will keep existing applications running smoothly, enhance them as they move into broader use, and take on growing responsibility for deployment and production support over time.

Development
- Develop and enhance internal business applications, features, APIs, reports, and user interfaces.
- Meet with employees to understand business needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Improve and scale existing applications as they move into broader organizational use.
- Integrate applications with company systems, databases, authentication tools, and shared technology.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, reports, and database views.
- Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted tools, while reviewing and validating the resulting code.

Standards & Documentation
- Follow and help improve standards for application development, deployment, security, and support.
- Apply sound security practices, including SSO, environment-based credentials, and least-privilege database access.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, architecture notes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Build applications that others can support, so no system depends on the knowledge of a single person.

- Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.

- Experience with ERP/accounting systems, especially Sage 300 CRE or Sage Paperless.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
Success Measures
- Employees have reliable, easy-to-use applications that support their daily work.
- Requests and issues are understood quickly, communicated clearly, and resolved with minimal disruption.
- Existing applications are stable, current, and well documented.
- Code and documentation are clear enough for others to support and build on.
