About the role
This Assistant Principal position is based in the Support Unit at Banksmeadow Public School. The Support Unit comprises three dedicated classes, each designed to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment. Our facilities include a private playground and a fully equipped kitchen, creating spaces where students can learn, build independence, and develop essential life skills in a supportive setting.
Banksmeadow Public School is a vibrant and inclusive learning community located in Sydney’s Bayside area. We educate around 350 students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Our school offers a wide variety of programs, including a Public Preschool and three specialist Support Unit classes catering to students with additional needs such as disabilities, Aboriginal students, and those learning English as an additional language (EAL/D).
Diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and we are committed to fostering an equitable and nurturing environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. We believe every child deserves to be known, valued, and supported.
Our community is highly engaged, with strong partnerships between families, local organisations, and external agencies. Parents and caregivers play an active role in supporting their children’s learning journey, while we work closely with community partners to provide enriching educational opportunities.
Banksmeadow offers a broad range of extracurricular activities including music, sports, and cultural programs. These enhance student engagement, promote wellbeing, and build a strong sense of belonging.
Our school motto 'Opportunity, Excellence, Belonging' guides us in everything we do. It reflects our commitment to providing all students with opportunities to succeed, striving for excellence in learning and personal growth, and fostering a welcoming environment where every student feels they belong and are supported.
