Position Overview

The Automotive Service Manager directs daily service department operations to deliver quality repairs, timely vehicle completion, excellent customer experiences, and profitable performance. This position leads service advisors, technicians, and support personnel; manages workflow, staffing, performance, and customer escalations; and ensures adherence to manufacturer requirements, dealership policies, and applicable safety and employment standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
• Manage daily shop workflow, repair schedules, and customer commitments.
• Monitor labor sales, profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee repair order accuracy, warranty procedures, and service quality.
• Resolve customer concerns and collaborate with Parts and Sales teams.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient service operation.

Qualifications

• Automotive service leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of service department operations and performance metrics.
• Excellent leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using dealership management systems and operational reports.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Compensation & Benefits

• 50,000 – 200,000 per year depending on performance, salary plus commission and incentives
