As the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Channel Management, you will be a critical executive leader driving Verizon's national omnichannel distribution and indirect sales strategy. You will head a high-performing organization responsible for accelerating revenue growth, expanding Verizon’s reach in under-penetrated markets, and managing key partner relationships across multiple routes to market—including Mobility Co-Sell, Business Agents, Alternative Distribution, and Wireless Connectivity Partners. In this role, you will act as a major force multiplier by seamlessly aligning our indirect partner network with Verizon's direct enterprise sales channels to build a cohesive, highly competitive "attack mode" market presence.
What you’ll be doing…
1. Relationship & Alliance Management
- Partnership Ecosystem Growth: Take absolute ownership of maintaining, nurturing, and growing strategic partner and alliance relationships to drive the indirect selling of our product portfolio through third parties.
- Maximizing Sales Force Interaction: Spend the majority of your time actively collaborating and interacting with partners' sales organizations to maximize mindshare, build strong working relationships, and accelerate indirect revenue.
- Onboarding & Ongoing Enablement: Drive the introduction and sales of new, innovative Verizon products to your partner network, providing continuous training and enablement to ensure partner readiness.
- Reseller Optimization: Actively manage reseller sales activities, analyze market trends, and identify distribution gaps to develop targeted plans for partner performance improvement.
2. Strategic Planning, Analytics & Forecasting
- Sales Analytics & Productivity: Own the rigorous analysis of sales results, continuous monitoring of team and partner productivity, strategic forecasting, and quota-setting processes.
- Market Opportunity Identification: Evaluate market conditions, sales reporting, and forecasts to analyze territories and market share. Use these insights to proactively identify high-growth areas, target new revenue opportunities, and actively manage and mitigate churn.
- Strategic Issue Resolution: Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to analyze systemic issues impacting the channel, and recommend, develop, and implement continuous process improvements.
3. High-Value Account Engagement & Contract Negotiation
- Key Account Promotion: Attend high-level sales meetings with potential and existing key accounts to establish strong working relationships and champion the premium quality and value of Verizon.
- Contractual Approvals: Oversee complex contract negotiations for key accounts on pricing and concessions, facilitating final contract approvals smoothly across cross-functional internal departments (e.g., Legal, Finance, Product).
4. High-Performance Team Leadership & Talent Management
- Goal Attainment: Manage a high-performing management team to meet and exceed national sales goals. Set clear channel objectives and initiate performance planning with concrete measurements across all key result areas.
- Cultural Stewardship: Instill core V Team values, personal accountability, and deep team commitment throughout the entire organization, keeping lines of communication open and consistent regarding key objectives.
- Organizational Development: Interview, hire, and build the management team. Directly oversee the professional development of your organization through active coaching, motivation, and training.
- Personnel Decisions & Performance Accountability: Make critical decisions regarding hiring, termination, advancement, performance, promotions, or any other change of status within the team. Continually assess employee performance, hold team members accountable, take corrective actions as necessary, and provide ongoing feedback and direction.
What we’re looking for...
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, channel management, or business development within a large, fast-paced technology or telecommunications organization.
- Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of complex P&L structures, partner compensation models, and corporate financial drivers.
- Communication & Influence: Master-level presentation and written communication skills using Google Workspace; proven capability to present to and influence C-suite executives
