About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Lead-3 based in India.
We are seeking a highly driven Business Development Lead to accelerate customer acquisition and revenue growth for an innovative, AI-enabled digital healthcare solution serving ophthalmology practices across the United States. This role is ideal for a results-oriented sales professional who thrives on opening new markets, building strong pipelines, and converting prospects into long-term customers. You will engage directly with clinic owners, surgeons, administrators, and other senior decision-makers to uncover business challenges and demonstrate measurable commercial value. From prospecting and consultative selling to negotiations and contract execution, you will own the entire sales cycle. Working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, you will collaborate with Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Operations to strengthen market positioning and improve the customer experience. Your success will be measured by qualified opportunities, new contracts, revenue generated, and the speed at which you establish market presence.
Accountabilities
-
Drive new customer acquisition: Build and manage a robust pipeline of premium ophthalmology practices across the United States, identifying and engaging clinic owners, surgeons, administrators, and practice managers.
-
Generate qualified opportunities: Develop new business through targeted outbound prospecting, industry events, referrals, strategic partnerships, and digital sales channels.
-
Own the full sales cycle: Lead opportunities from initial outreach and discovery through product demonstrations, proposal development, negotiations, and contract execution.
-
Deliver consultative sales experiences: Understand healthcare practice workflows, patient acquisition challenges, and revenue objectives, positioning the solution around business outcomes rather than technology alone.
-
Build compelling business cases: Demonstrate product capabilities, develop ROI-focused presentations, and create tailored proposals and commercial offers aligned with customer needs.
-
Achieve revenue targets: Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals, maintain a healthy pipeline, forecast accurately, and create momentum throughout complex buying processes.
-
Negotiate and close deals: Manage commercial discussions, address objections, build stakeholder confidence, and convert qualified prospects into paying customers.
-
Develop the market: Establish relationships with industry consultants, professional associations, referral partners, and other relevant stakeholders to expand reach and strengthen market presence.
-
Represent the business externally: Participate in conferences, workshops, webinars, and customer events to generate leads, build credibility, and create new commercial opportunities.
-
Provide market intelligence: Gather competitive insights, customer feedback, and industry trends to improve sales messaging, product capabilities, and commercial strategy.
-
Collaborate across teams: Partner with Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Operations to align acquisition efforts, support effective customer onboarding, and ensure smooth handovers after contracts are signed.
-
Professional experience: 5–10 years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, healthcare technology sales, or a closely related commercial role.
-
Demonstrated sales performance: A proven track record of acquiring new customers, closing deals, and meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
-
Complex sales expertise: Experience managing multi-stage sales cycles involving several stakeholders, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and influence purchasing decisions.
-
Healthcare industry knowledge: Previous experience selling to healthcare providers, physician groups, clinics, or medical practices is preferred.
-
Consultative selling skills: Strong capabilities in discovery, needs assessment, value-based selling, product demonstrations, and ROI-driven presentations.
-
Negotiation and closing ability: Confidence in handling objections, negotiating commercial terms, creating urgency, and converting opportunities into signed contracts.
-
Pipeline and CRM management: Hands-on experience using CRM platforms to track opportunities, maintain accurate forecasts, and manage sales performance.
-
Customer acquisition tools: Proficiency with prospecting and lead-generation tools such as Apollo.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Lusha.
-
Commercial mindset: A strong focus on revenue generation, measurable outcomes, pipeline quality, and efficient market penetration.
-
Entrepreneurial approach: Comfort working in a fast-moving, evolving environment where priorities may change and processes may still be developing.
-
Ownership and initiative: A proactive, self-directed attitude with the ability to identify opportunities, make decisions, and drive results without waiting for detailed instructions.
-
Executive communication: Confidence engaging with surgeons, practice owners, clinic administrators, and other senior stakeholders, supported by excellent presentation and relationship-building skills.
-
Resilience and professionalism: Persistence, adaptability, sound judgment, and the ability to balance assertive sales execution with a customer-focused approach.
-
Growth orientation: A genuine enthusiasm for winning new business, developing markets, and building a repeatable customer acquisition engine rather than simply maintaining existing accounts.
-
Remote work: The position is listed as remote, offering flexibility in where you work within the role's operating requirements.
-
Full-time opportunity: A full-time position focused on business development, new customer acquisition, and commercial growth.
-
Ownership and impact: The opportunity to shape market expansion, establish new customer relationships, and directly influence revenue performance.
-
Entrepreneurial environment: A dynamic, growth-oriented setting suited to professionals who enjoy taking initiative, solving problems, and building new business opportunities.
-
Cross-functional collaboration: The chance to work closely with Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and Operations to influence customer experience and commercial strategy.
-
Healthcare innovation: The opportunity to contribute to an AI-enabled digital healthcare solution designed to help ophthalmology practices recover revenue through patient engagement.
