Chief Information Security Officer

We are looking for an experienced Information Security Leader to define and drive the organisation’s security strategy, governance and risk management. Working closely with engineering teams, executives and clients, you will ensure security risks are effectively managed and clearly communicated. This is an opportunity to shape the security function, strengthen organisational resilience and support business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the information security strategy, roadmap and budget, aligning security priorities with business objectives.
• Lead the information security governance, risk, and compliance programme, ensuring alignment with ISO 27001, SOC 2, SWIFT CSCF, GDPR, DORA and NIS2.
• Own incident response and give executives a plain-language status during incidents.
• Oversee customer due diligence and vendor security assessments, and manage risk acceptance decisions across business lines.
• Lead the security team and manage external security vendors, overseeing cloud security across a multi-account AWS environment.
• Report on security risks, control effectiveness and overall security posture to the board, executive leadership and clients, providing actionable insights to support informed decision-making.

Requirements:
Must have

• Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2 evidence management, risk registers, SWIFT CSCF and NIST CSF, with a solid understanding of GDPR requirements.
• Hands-on experience with AWS multi-account security, including GuardDuty, Security Hub and IAM, alongside SSO and identity management (Okta preferred).
• Experience with SIEM platforms, SOC operations, incident response, vulnerability and CVE management, threat modelling and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline security and software artefact and supply-chain security.

Nice to have

• Experience with compliance automation tools such as Vanta.
• Knowledge of DORA, NIS2, PCI DSS and financial services regulatory requirements.
• Relevant industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or CCSP.
