About the role
Job Description
Project – the aim you’ll have
This project is for a global leader in medical and travel security risk services, helping organisations protect their people wherever they work and travel. You’ll join a dedicated mobile team rebuilding the client’s traveller-facing apps, part of the Subscriber Portal, as fully native iOS and Android applications to replace the existing React Native versions. Travellers and expatriates use these apps to receive location-based medical and security alerts, access country risk information, check in, and contact 24/7 assistance centres with a single tap. The backend is already in place, allowing the team to focus on building a fast, secure and accessible native experience. When someone faces a crisis abroad, the app needs to work reliably when it matters most.
Role – how you’ll contribute
- Develop and maintain the native Android app using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose;
- Collaborate on requirements, technical solutions and effort estimates;
- Build responsive, accessible and multilingual interfaces;
- Optimise app performance, stability and scalability;
- Implement secure authentication, session management and data storage;
- Develop location-based features and location-triggered push notifications;
- Resolve production issues through crash analysis, root cause investigation and hotfixes;
- Integrate app monitoring and analytics;
- Maintain unit and UI tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines;
- Follow architecture and coding standards, participate in code reviews and maintain documentation.
Qualifications
Expectations – the experience you need
- 3+ years of experience in developing native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose;
- Experience implementing location services and push notifications;
- Experience with OAuth 2.0/OIDC, session management and secure credential storage;
- Experience integrating third-party libraries;
- Hands-on experience writing and maintaining unit and UI tests;
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Scrum practices;
- Proficiency in Jira and Confluence;
- Strong attention to detail, communication and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous learning;
- English at C1 – the working language with the client.
