About the role
Take control of warranty spend across BDR Thermea Group
As Claims & Warranty Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening how BDR Thermea Group, a leading manufacturer of energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions, manages claims and warranty across Europe.
Our warranty conditions and return standards are in place, but they are not consistently applied in daily practice. Your mission is to change that: make the existing standards work in every country, and bring warranty spend under control and down, while protecting customer satisfaction and commercial relationships.
Your role
You will join our Business Area Aftersales, reporting directly to the Head of BA Aftersales. You will work closely with our European businesses to embed existing warranty standards into everyday operations, harmonise policies and return processes where this creates value, and establish a consistent framework for measuring warranty performance.
Working across Aftersales, Quality, R&D and our local businesses, you will turn warranty insights into practical improvements that support cost efficiency, product quality and customer experience.
This is a hands-on role for an implementer who gets things done and makes them stick. Working across an international matrix organisation, you will connect teams across countries and functions and drive a consistent approach across the Group.
Based at our headquarters in Apeldoorn, you will work in a hybrid setup and travel regularly across Europe, particularly during your first months as you get to know our businesses and local operations. After onboarding, you will work two days per week from Apeldoorn.
What you’ll do
- Control and reduce warranty spend: take full ownership of warranty cost across our European businesses and deliver clear, measurable savings targets.
- Make existing standards work: ensure the warranty conditions and return rules already in our contracts are applied in daily practice, country by country, and stay applied.
- Strengthen warranty governance: establish clear ownership, decision-making and escalation routes, working with local teams to ensure consistent application across countries.
- Improve warranty and return processes: work with Quality, Supply Chain and local teams to strengthen how claims and returned products and parts are tracked, assessed and handled.
- Turn data into action: establish a common KPI framework to monitor warranty performance, identify opportunities and measure progress against targets.
- Drive continuous improvement: share claims insights with Quality and R&D to support product improvement.
What you bring
- Relevant, senior-level experience in warranty management, claims or aftersales within an industrial or product-based environment.
- Proven experience improving and implementing claims and warranty processes across multiple countries or business units, with measurable results in cost control and reduction.
- Strong analytical and commercial understanding, with the ability to turn data and insights into practical improvements.
- A pragmatic approach and the confidence to influence stakeholders across an international organisation.
- Excellent communication skills in English and willingness to travel within Europe.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance or a related field.
Nice to have
- Experience with HVAC (heat pumps, gas/oil boilers) claims and warranty management.
- Knowledge of claims, warranty and returns tools, including SAP returns processes.
- Understanding of European warranty frameworks and contract terms.
- Additional European language skills and/or experience with Lean, Six Sigma or change management.
Why join us?
You will join BDR Thermea Group at an exciting time for our industry. As our portfolio evolves towards newer, lower-carbon heating and cooling technologies, effective warranty management is becoming increasingly important. You will have a highly visible role, working across Aftersales and the wider business to improve how we manage claims and warranty across Europe, bringing greater consistency, transparency and commercial focus.
What we offer:
- Build a long-term career with a permanent contract and competitive rewards;
- Enjoy 36 holiday days and the flexibility of hybrid working;
