About the role
Why us?
Are you passionate about food, hospitality, and creating great experiences for the people around you? We're looking for a Client Experience Coordinator / Kitchen Assistant to join our fun and dynamic client experience team in Wellington, where you'll help ensure every client, visitor and colleague who interacts with Buddle Findlay has an exceptional experience. We're offering a competitive salary, no weekend work, and a warm, friendly team environment - this role is perfect for someone looking to start their career in food service or corporate catering.
The opportunity
As a vital part of our client experience team, you'll play a key role in the smooth running of our kitchens and the food and beverage service we provide to clients and staff. This is a permanent, full-time position working 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. No two days are the same, and you'll thrive in this varied, hands-on role within a collaborative and supportive environment that prioritises balance, career development and recognising great work.
The role
Working alongside the Corporate Chef, your days will be varied - from cleaning, maintaining and stocking our four kitchens, to ordering, invoicing and general administration. You'll also help prepare food and beverages for meetings and functions, from sandwich making and canapé preparation to baking, and work closely with the client experience team to deliver and clear food from meeting rooms and events, keeping beverage service seamless between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
You'll also support the reception team when needed and act as back-up to the Corporate Chef, giving you exciting opportunities to step up and lead the food and beverage services.
What matters to us
We value people who bring a different perspective, who are passionate, curious and innovative. To be successful in this role, ideally you will:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment, with food handling and preparation desired but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, contributing to a positive and supportive team environment
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly
- Flexibility to handle changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in basic administrative tasks and budget management, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
- A positive 'can do' attitude where you go above and beyond the normal call of duty.
