Cloud Software Engineer Intern

Your Role

As an intern, you'll help build AI-powered developer and operations tooling for this platform — applying large language models and machine learning to help engineers investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues across the stack. It's a hands-on opportunity to learn modern AI application development while working alongside an experienced software engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Help develop, test, and extend AI-driven internal tooling for the Wind River Cloud Platform.
• Help build and improve LLM-driven workflows and automation.
• Help with test execution and automation, and gain a thorough understanding of the product.
• Take the initiative to improve features and processes.
• Contribute ideas for product improvements and iterations.
• Collaborate effectively with global software engineering teams.s.

Your Background

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid programming fundamentals, ideally in Python.
• Understanding of object-oriented / modular design concepts and basic software engineering practices (testing, debugging, version control with Git).
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Eagerness to learn, and the ability to take initiative.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbals
  Exposure to StarlingX, OpenStack, Kubernetes, or Linux-based cloud/edge infrastructure.
• Interest or experience in building applications with LLMs / generative AI.
• Familiarity with machine-learning concepts.
• Interest in leveraging AI to improve engineering productivity.
• Experience with scripting languages, e.g., Python.

Compensation

This role is compensation range is between $4,000 to $5,000 Compensation is determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members.
