About the role
Position summary
The Content Manager serves as the sector-wide credit subject matter expert within the Energy and Industrials Credit pod and owns expert research content coverage requiring credit-specific judgment across the sector. The role identifies the companies, themes and investor questions that warrant coverage; defines and validates the Network Member profiles needed; designs differentiated interview agendas; leads human-moderated one-to-one interviews; and develops recurring programs for execution by Associates. The primary output of this research is the transcript: a written record of each human-moderated interview, published on GLG's Library, our access-controlled research platform, for use by institutional investors.
The role requires an investor mindset and deep credit expertise across E&I Credit , with sufficient knowledge of its major sub-sectors, companies and value chains to evaluate business quality, capital structures, cash-flow durability, downside risk and credit catalysts.
Key responsibilities
Coverage ownership and research agenda
- Set and maintain the sector-wide credit research agenda for E&I , including priority issuers, sub-sectors, capital-structure themes, catalysts, investor debates and underserved information needs.
- Identify emerging themes, inflection points and content gaps early, connecting macro and sector developments to issuer-level credit implications.
- Translate earnings calls, financing and rating developments, conferences, market events, client demand and usage signals into timely interviews and recurring credit content programs.
- Use a shared research foundation to develop several distinct conversations on the same issuer, sub-sector or credit theme without producing repetitive content.
Network Member strategy and interview leadership
- Build and maintain a map of the roles, organizations, value-chain positions and geographies needed to answer priority research questions.
- Define and validate Network Member profiles, screening criteria and briefing context that distinguish direct visibility from nominal seniority.
- Design credit-focused interview agendas and questions that go beyond public commentary and generate original insight for investors.
- Lead human-moderated one-to-one interviews, listening actively, probing inconsistencies and redirecting the conversation toward material investor questions.Structured programs, quality and collaboration
- Define the research objective, respondent criteria, question sets and cadence for recurring structured credit programs across E&I
- Brief Associates executing those programs, review representative output and determine whether it meets substantive research and quality standards.
- Work with Associates and Compliance to resolve substantive questions and carry approved content through publication.
- Capture issuer briefs, Network Member knowledge, question frameworks and findings in reusable form to strengthen sector-wide credit coverage.
- Collaborate across the sector pod when sub-sector, asset-class, regional or thematic perspectives would materially improve the research, and contribute to team ideation, knowledge sharing and quality calibration.
- Use AI-enabled research and moderation tools to deepen preparation and improve efficiency, applying judgment to validate outputs.
Required qualifications
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in public or private credit research, buy-side or sell-side credit analysis, leveraged finance, fixed income, ratings, restructuring or another role with substantive credit-analysis responsibility.
- Deep credit expertise across E&I or multiple related industries, with sufficient knowledge of their companies and value chains to connect business developments to issuer risk and investment implications.
- Experience producing credit research or insight for institutional investors, lenders, underwriters or another sophisticated financial audience.
- Strong working knowledge of financial statements, cash-flow analysis, capital structures, debt instruments, liquidity, covenants, downside risk and credit catalysts.
- Strong interest in financial markets, company and industry analysis, and business dynamics, with the intellectual curiosity and discipline to deepen credit expertise across TMT.
- Demonstrated ability to translate research objectives into incisive, investor-relevant questions designed to generate differentiated insight.
- Excellent verbal communication and live-interviewing skills, including the ability to probe beyond surface-level responses and challenge senior operators in real time.
