About the role
Oula delivers maternity care built around our patients—offering comprehensive support before, during, and after pregnancy. With fewer C-sections and higher VBAC success rates, our research-backed approach is delivering better outcomes. Our team of trusted midwives, OBGYNs, and dedicated care navigators ensure our patients get the type of care they need in the moments that matter most.
Since launching in 2021, we’ve expanded our services to include Preconception and Miscarriage Care, Pregnancy Care, Postpartum Support, and Gynecology. Today, we serve patients across six clinics in three states, with continued expansion planned for 2027 and beyond. Join our team of clinicians, innovators, operators, and technologists who are passionate about setting a new standard in maternity care.
The Role
We are looking for a Credentialing Coordinator to own how our clinicians become credentialed and ready to care for patients at our hospital partners. This is not a traditional credentialing role. Each health system we partner with has its own process, and as we expand into new markets, you will manage that complexity across all of them.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who knows credentialing well, wants more than running the same playbook, and is excited to continuously build and improve a critical workstream at a growing organization.
Schedule: Full-time, hybrid, based in Brooklyn, NY.
Employment type: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt.
Key partners: Revenue Cycle and Clinical Operations.
What You'll Do
Clinician Credentialing & Health System Partnerships
-
Own credentialing and privileging for new clinicians across multiple health system partners, including delegated arrangements.
-
Learn and document each partner’s requirements, timelines, and contacts, building a playbook we can adapt for every new market.
-
Manage a live pipeline for every provider in process: what has been submitted, what is outstanding, where the bottleneck is, and how it affects their start date.
-
Guide clinicians through each application, staging documents such as licenses, NPI, board certifications, and case logs before they are due.
-
Follow up persistently with providers, medical staff offices, and internal partners, and escalate early when a start date is at risk.
-
Respond quickly to urgent requests from hospital partners.
-
Partner with Revenue Cycle on payer enrollment, tracking status after hospital approval and giving Clinical Operations Managers clear handoffs on which patients new providers can see and when.
-
Manage reappointments, renewals, and expiring credentials such as licenses, DEA registrations, and malpractice coverage for existing providers.
-
Map credentialing requirements and timelines early in each new market launch so start dates are realistic.
-
Support People Operations with new hire coordination, documentation, and process improvement as capacity allows.
Qualifications
-
2 to 3+ years of credentialing experience at the coordinator or specialist level, ideally in a hospital, medical group, or multisite practice.
-
Experience with hospital privileging; exposure to delegated credentialing or payer enrollment is a strong plus.
-
Working knowledge of credentialing standards, primary source verification, and CAQH.
-
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Preferred: Experience in OB/GYN, midwifery, or women’s health is a plus. NAMSS certification (CPCS) is a plus. Comfort with Asana or similar project tracking tools. Self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset.
You Are the Perfect Candidate If You
-
Have direct credentialing experience and understand how hospital privileging and payer enrollment fit together.
-
Think like a project manager: you see the whole pipeline, spot the hidden bottleneck, and fix it before it becomes a problem.
-
Shift easily between partners with different processes without losing the thread.
-
Treat every start date as a commitment.
-
Stay composed when an urgent request needs an answer today.
-
Know how to get things done in a growing organization, through formal channels and by picking up the phone.
-
Can push for what you need while keeping partner relationships strong.
-
Own your mistakes, fix them quickly, and look for feedback that makes you better.
