This role is foundational to the University’s digital transformation and evolving cloud operating model. The Director will oversee Application & Environment Operations (PeopleSoft + Oracle Cloud), Integration Architecture & Services setup and maintenance (OIC/API), and Access/Security Administration.

The incumbent will possess the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously, the ability to communicate effectively with others, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for executive, functional, and technical audiences.
Enterprise Application & Cloud Environment Operations: Define and implement operational standards for PeopleSoft and Oracle Cloud environments:
● Provide hands-on oversight of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environments (web/app servers, PeopleTools, middleware, patching, package installations, performance tuning).
● Oversee Oracle Fusion Cloud operational support, including configuration management, custom extensions, scheduled processes, and environment readiness.
● Partner with the Infrastructure team to ensure OCI-hosted services are secure, stable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
● Establish environment governance across Dev/Test/UAT/Pre-Prod/Prod, aligned with release management.
● Implement proactive monitoring, logging, observability, and incident response standards.
● Ensure high availability and operational continuity of mission-critical enterprise systems.
● Engage technically in day-to-day environment troubleshooting when necessary.
Integration Architecture & OIC Governance: Collaborate to define integration strategy and architectural standards:
● Lead governance of integrations built using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
● Establish API-first and event-driven integration standards.
● Modernize file-based integrations to secure API-based patterns where feasible.
● Define lifecycle management standards for integrations (version control, deployment controls, documentation).
● Ensure integration security, monitoring, and audit readiness.
● Provide architectural oversight to ensure scalability and resilience of integration patterns.
Access/Security Administration: In collaboration with the AVP for EAI, establish enterprise access governance standards:
● Oversee role-based security design across PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Oracle Fusion HCM, ERP, EPM, EDM and Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) base security.
● Implement structured provisioning, de-provisioning, and access review processes.
● Ensure segregation of duties controls and audit compliance.
● Partner with functional stakeholders to translate business roles into secure system roles.
● Establish lifecycle management and documentation standards for access/security.
DevOps & Cloud Operating Model Transformation: In partnership with the AVP for EAI and Director of Sustainment:
● Lead the transition from traditional on-prem administration to cloud-based service management.
● Implement DevOps-aligned practices including structured change control, deployment standards, environment promotion governance, and operational documentation and runbooks
● Define internal SLAs and service metrics.
● Establish operational dashboards and performance reporting.
