About the role

Enablement Program Specialist

Canopy, Draper, UT Hybrid (M,W,F in office)

About Us

Canopy is a fast-growing SaaS company building simple, efficient software for accounting firms. We are looking to revolutionize the accounting space with modern, user-friendly software for a neglected industry.

We aim to help our clients unlock the firm they’ve always wanted with our Practice Management Suite. We place a strong emphasis on delighting our customers, spotting and solving problems, and being good people along the way. And we just secured $70M in Series C funding to help us fulfill that mission.

The Opportunity

The Enablement Program Specialist owns the certification programs every go-to-market hire completes at Canopy and works with each go-to-market team to shape its role-specific new hire ramp. You will own two certifications, one for product knowledge and one for accounting industry knowledge, and you will partner with each team's leaders to build the training that gets a new hire productive in their role.

What You Will Own:

  • Product Certification: Design, build, maintain, and measure the product-level certification for all go-to-market hires. You decide what a new hire must know and demonstrate about the product, build the assessments, and keep the certification current as the product changes.
  • Industry Certification: Design, build, maintain, and measure the industry certification for all go-to-market hires. This certification teaches new hires how accounting firms operate, the language firm leaders and staff use, and the problems our customers are trying to solve.
  • Role-Specific Ramp Training: Work with each go-to-market team to define the shape of its role-specific training for new hire ramp, and support its delivery. You help each team's leaders decide what belongs in the ramp, how it is sequenced, and how readiness is confirmed. The teams are Sales, Account Management, Implementation, Professional Services, and Support.

What you’ll do:

  • Run the certification programs end to end: scope, build, launch, deliver, measure, and revise.
  • Build online courses and assessments that new hires complete before and during ramp.
  • Design and facilitate live, in-person training sessions, and decide which content belongs in a live session and which belongs in self-paced work.
  • Use a flipped classroom model, with new hires completing foundational content beforehand so live time is spent on practice, discussion, and feedback.
  • Partner with go-to-market leaders to define ramp expectations for each role and to agree on what readiness looks like.
  • Work with Product and subject matter experts to keep certification content accurate as features launch.
  • Track completion, assessment results, and time to productivity, and use that data to improve the programs.
  • Manage timelines and dependencies across multiple programs and stakeholders at once.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong experience applying adult learning theory to program and course design, with the ability to explain the choices you made and why.
  • Demonstrated experience building courses, including content, activities, and assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering in-person, live training.
  • Understanding of the flipped classroom model, with evidence that you have designed or run training that uses it.
  • Time on task within an enablement team, supporting either a sales organization or a customer experience organization. Experience on either side qualifies.
  • Strong project and program management skills, and the ability to work with leaders across several teams.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience with a learning management system.
  • Experience with SaaS products, and ideally with accounting or professional services firms.
  • Experience measuring training outcomes beyond completion rates.

How We Will Measure Success:

  • Every go-to-market hire completes both certifications within the agreed ramp window.
  • Certification content is updated when the product changes, with no release going unreflected.
  • Each go-to-market team has a documented ramp plan that its leader has agreed to.
  • New hire time to productivity improves against a baseline set in the first quarter.
