About the role

Description

At Veza, speed is our craft. We solve the problems other companies say can't be solved fast enough — turning tough customer challenges into real, manufactured solutions. Our values — Velocity, Execution, Zealousness, and Accountability — aren't slogans, they're how we operate every day. We're looking for people who'd rather build something real than talk about building it.

Who We are Looking For

As the Engineering Leader you will will actively design and develop wire harness assemblies, as well as support the quoting team and various continuous improvement efforts. This role requires a player/coach mentality, technical depth, leadership skills, and the ability to interface directly with customers. You will be responsible for developing manufacturable solutions, supporting quoting efforts, and driving engineering excellence through metrics-based performance.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team focused on design, tooling, process development, and production support for wire harness assemblies.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with customers—conducting design reviews, supporting product feasibility, and resolving technical issues.
  • Partner with Quoting team to own any won bids and manage the NPI process for new business, including material, labor, tooling, and overhead.
  • Oversee the creation and accuracy of technical documentation such as harness drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Drive product and process improvements to enhance manufacturability, reduce cost, and improve quality.
  • Support the successful launch of new programs including PPAP validation and submission, documentation, and customer approvals.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and lead root cause and corrective action initiatives.
  • Manage engineering change requests and ensure timely and accurate implementation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment of engineering initiatives.

Why Veza

At Veza, we move fast and we finish what we start. Our values shape how we work every day:

  • Velocity — Fast to Solve
  • Execution — Fast to Finish
  • Zealous — Fast to Yes
  • Accountability — Fast to Own

If you want to work somewhere that values speed, ownership, and getting things done right, we'd love to hear from you.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of engineering experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in quoting and estimating for low-to-medium volume harness production.
  • Strong customer communication skills and ability to collaborate in technical discussions.
  • Proficiency in harness design tools (Zuken E3, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL, SAE, or MIL-SPEC standards.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and change control processes.

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience in a high-mix, custom manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to private equity-backed or high-growth manufacturing organizations.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP certification.
  • Background in cost modeling and value engineering.
