Position Overview
This senior role sits at the intersection of client leadership and team operations for a specialized agency leasing advisory group within JLL's New York City platform. The position owns day-to-day execution across a significant Manhattan office portfolio, leads a structured account management team, and serves as the primary point of accountability for client deliverables and transaction outcomes. Alongside execution, the role carries active business development responsibility — with a particular focus on building relationships with owners, investors, and capital partners. This is a hands-on, deal-executing seat with genuine leadership scope.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Leadership
- Originate and pursue top-tier landlord-representation mandates across Trophy and Class A Manhattan office buildings
- Build and maintain relationships with institutional owners, family offices, and capital partners — with a focus on early engagement before a formal leasing process begins
- Provide senior-level deal oversight and strategic advisory on complex, multi-party transactions
Team Leadership & Culture
- Drive vision, culture, and performance standards for a structured account management team
- Mentor account managers on deal execution, client communication, and the use of the team's proprietary technology and analytical tools
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture consistent with JLL's values
Account & Transaction Management
- Maintain day-to-day ownership of active client accounts across a Manhattan office portfolio
- Oversee all client-facing deliverables, from initial positioning through lease execution and closing
- Drive seamless coordination across leasing, research, marketing, and JLL platform resources
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with research, marketing, technology, NYCAG and Human Capital teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions
- Leverage firm-wide capabilities to maximize client value and competitive advantage
- Ensure consistent communication and alignment across internal stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in agency leasing or landlord representation in a major market, with a meaningful portion of that in Manhattan
- Demonstrated track record originating and executing significant leasing mandates at the Trophy or Class A level
- Established relationships with institutional investors, ownership groups, and real estate decision-makers
- Proven ability to lead a team — setting standards, developing talent, and holding people accountable, not just overseeing them
- Comfort operating in a technology-forward environment; this group uses proprietary analytical and workflow tools as a core part of how work gets done
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing book of business or demonstrable ability to generate new client mandates
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder relationships
- MBA or advanced degree in real estate, business, or related field
