About the role
Ready to build something from the ground up? We’re seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced HSE professionals to join Worley as the proposed HSE Manager for a Brownfield EPCM portfolio delivering projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
This is a unique opportunity to establish and shape Worley’s internal portfolio HSE team. Working closely with the Portfolio Director and wider team, you’ll play a key role in reviewing, evaluating and ultimately monitoring field subcontractor HSE performance across the portfolio.
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact on HSE outcomes from day one – and you’re comfortable with regular travel within QLD – we’d love to hear from you.
What you'll do
- Establishing, leading and growing Worley’s internal portfolio HSE team – shaping the structure, ways of working and culture from the outset.
- Partnering with the Portfolio Director and leadership team to set the HSE direction and develop portfolio-level HSE management plans aligned to client and Worley requirements.
- Leading the review and evaluation of subcontractor HSE capability through prequalification, tender assessment and mobilisation readiness.
- Monitoring and driving field subcontractor HSE performance through site inspections, audits, leading and lagging indicators and regular performance reviews.
- Supporting safe delivery in brownfield operating environments, including permit-to-work, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) and interface management with live assets.
- Providing a visible HSE presence across QLD project sites, coaching teams and subcontractors to embed a strong safety culture.
- Leading incident investigations and ensuring lessons learned are shared and actioned across the portfolio.
- Preparing HSE reporting and insights for the Portfolio Director, client and internal stakeholders.
- Working directly with business leaders and Worley Enterprise Services supporting our Sales team during priority bids and proposals.
- Building strong relationships with Location Directors, Functional Directors, and Managers to drive our HSE Strategy
- Ensuring statutory compliance and developing HSE deliverables, whilst prioritising continuous improvement opportunities.
- Influencing our teams spanning our ANZ portfolios and projects.
- Demonstrate and champion our Worley Values, Life Saving Rules and the underlying Worley systems, tools and processes that ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of our people.
About You
- Proven experience in a senior HSE leadership role within the gas sector, ideally supporting brownfield EPCM projects or operating assets.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating, managing and monitoring subcontractor HSE performance in the field.
- Experience building or leading HSE teams, with the ability to establish systems and ways of working from the ground up.
- Ability to engage proactively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong background in integrated management systems frameworks.
- Tertiary qualification in HSE or a related field (Degree/Advanced Diploma).
