About the role
COMPANY OVERVIEW
We exist to make food the world loves. But we do more than that. Our company is a place that prioritizes being a force for good, a place to expand learning, explore new perspectives and reimagine new possibilities, every day. We look for people who want to bring their best — bold thinkers with big hearts who challenge one another and grow together. Because becoming the undisputed leader in food means surrounding ourselves with people who are hungry for what’s next.
About the Role
General Mills is seeking an energetic Customer Account Specialist (CAS) to support foodservice operators in Nashville and the surrounding Middle Tennessee territory. In this field-based role, you’ll build operator relationships, sustain existing business, and generate incremental sales across a broad portfolio of foodservice products, including frozen baked goods, flour, mixes, cereal, snacks, and individually wrapped frozen meals.
You’ll work directly with foodservice operators and in close partnership with the Foodservice Account Executive (AE). The AE leads distributor relationships and serves as the primary contact for distributor decision-makers. You’ll collaborate with the AE regularly, work with distributor sales representatives to help create demand, and stay aligned on territory priorities.
Regular field visits, customer presentations, product sampling, and industry events are central to the work and being successful as a CAS.

- Support distributor sales teams with product education and training so they can represent products to their customers.
- Collaborate with the AE and cross-region partners to create demand for core products and new offerings.
- Plan and execute a strategic call pattern, including at least 16 in-person operator interactions per week; the role’s broader sales target is 16–20 weekly calls and approximately 750–1,000 incremental cases per month.
- Research customer operations using Salesforce, purchase data, customer websites, Google, social media, and other available resources to prepare for sales calls.
- Use sales, marketing, and trade resources to address customer objections and close sales.
- Review Salesforce and Excel-based reporting, along with local market knowledge, to identify sales opportunities and prioritize your schedule.
- Demonstrate products through sample preparation, including baking and plate presentations.
- Present to groups and support food shows, distributor sales meetings, industry expos, targeted sales events, district huddles, and other relevant meetings.
- Record customer and sales activity in Salesforce and manage administrative responsibilities using Microsoft Office tools.
