At Glennon Brothers Windymains, we're looking for experienced and motivated Forklift Operatives to join our growing operation. As one of the leading timber processing businesses in the UK and Ireland, we process thousands of tonnes of timber each year, supplying customers across the construction, manufacturing and merchant sectors. Behind every successful operation is a skilled team ensuring logs and timber products are moved safely, efficiently and on time.
If you enjoy operating heavy equipment, working outdoors, and being part of a busy industrial environment where no two days are the same, we'd like to hear from you.

As a Forklift Operative, you'll play a vital role in supporting production by safely transporting logs, sawn timber and materials across our sawmill and log yard operations. Operating forklifts of up to 14 tonnes, you'll ensure materials are in the right place at the right time, helping maintain production flow and supporting the safe and efficient running of the site.
This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who take pride in operating equipment safely, working as part of a team and contributing to a high-performing operation.
What You'll Be Doing
· Operating up to 14-tonne forklift trucks safely and efficiently across the site.
· Loading and unloading timber products, timber packs and log deliveries.
· Supporting production teams by maintaining the continuous flow of materials.
· Moving, stacking and organising timber products within storage areas.
· Carrying out daily equipment inspections and safety checks.
· Reporting defects, maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly.
· Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across operational areas.
· Working closely with production, transport and maintenance teams.
· Supporting operational improvement initiatives and safety programmes.
· Assisting with other log yard and site duties when required.
What We're Looking For

· Previous experience operating heavy forklift trucks.
· Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) certification or willingness to obtain or renew certification.
· Strong commitment to health and safety.
· Experience working within a manufacturing, industrial, production, logistics or outdoor environment.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· Reliable, self-motivated and adaptable approach to work.
Desirable
· Experience operating forklifts between 8 and 14 tonnes.
· Experience within the timber, sawmill, forestry or wider heavy industrial sectors.
· Familiarity with handling large, heavy or irregular loads.
· Tractor, loading shovel or other mobile plant experience.
· Basic mechanical knowledge for routine equipment inspections.
Working Hours
· 40 hours per week
Dayshift: 0600-1400hrs, Monday to Friday
