Description
Forklift Operator
Location: Cornerstone Truss & Components | Uxbridge, MA
Schedule: Full-time, with overtime as needed
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Cornerstone Truss & Components is hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our outdoor manufacturing yard. You’ll operate a 15,000-pound all-terrain forklift to stage truss bundles and load outgoing deliveries. This hands-on role helps keep shipments accurate, materials protected, and trucks moving safely.
What You Will Do
- Operate a 15,000-pound all-terrain forklift to move truss bundles and load outbound trucks.
- Read shipping paperwork and build lists to verify products, quantities, and loading instructions.
- Stage, stack, and organize truss bundles for shipment and secure packages on trailers.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Check materials for damage and report product or quality issues before shipment.
- Keep the yard clean and organized, follow safety procedures, and participate in required safety meetings.
Requirements
Required
- At least one year of forklift operating experience.
- Ability to safely operate large-capacity forklifts in an outdoor yard.
- Strong attention to safety, load accuracy, and product handling.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with production, shipping, and delivery teams.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds, using team assistance or equipment for heavier materials.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions and around operating equipment.
- Availability to work overtime as needed.
Preferred
- Experience operating forklifts with capacities of 8,000–20,000 pounds, particularly all-terrain models.
- Experience handling trusses, lumber, oversized loads, or other building materials.
- Previous truck loading experience in a manufacturing or lumber yard environment.
Compensation and Benefits
