About the role
About the Role
Join an early-stage agricultural technology team building AI tools to make sense of crop, soil, weather, and farm operations data. As one of the first engineers, you will take on open-ended technical challenges and help shape the product and engineering culture.
What You'll Do
Build data pipelines that bring together farm data from sensors, satellite and drone imagery, weather sources, and agronomic records.
Train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models and the infrastructure that supports them.
Put product in front of growers, observe how they use it, and rapidly iterate based on feedback.
Help select the technical stack, establish engineering practices, and grow the team.
What We're Looking For
Roughly 0 to 4 years of professional experience, or equivalent evidence of strong building ability.
Strong coding skills in Python and/or TypeScript, with the flexibility to work across the stack.
A track record of shipping projects end to end, such as personal projects, research, open source work, or startup products.
Persistence in tackling difficult technical or personal challenges.
Curiosity about AI and real-world systems; prior agriculture experience is not required.
Experience with machine learning, computer vision, time-series data, or geospatial tools is a plus.
Background in agriculture, climate, food, hard tech, or an early-stage startup is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary up to $250,000 annually, plus meaningful equity. Visa sponsorship policy was not provided.
Location
On-site, five days a week in San Francisco, California, United States.
