Accountabilities

• Content Review and Editing: Review, edit, refine, and fact-check music-related content in German, ensuring accuracy, clarity, coherence, and compliance with established editorial guidelines.

• AI-Generated Content Enhancement: Improve US English source content generated by AI, refining its wording, structure, tone, and creative impact to produce engaging and natural German-language content.

• Music Research and Fact-Checking: Conduct market-specific research into music terminology, artists, genres, industry conventions, and emerging trends to ensure content is accurate and up to date.

• Cultural and Linguistic Adaptation: Adapt content to reflect the cultural nuances, language preferences, and expectations of the target audience while maintaining authenticity and relevance.

• Editorial Quality Assurance: Ensure consistency, readability, and high editorial standards across digital and audiovisual platforms, following project-specific style guides and quality requirements.

• Tone of Voice Optimisation: Tailor writing styles to different musical genres, audiences, and contexts, avoiding overly formal or artificial language in favour of an engaging, contemporary voice.

• Content Feedback and Improvement: Provide clear, constructive feedback on written content, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to continuous quality enhancement.

• Platform and Workflow Collaboration: Work with client-specific tools and editorial workflows to deliver consistent, high-quality content within established project requirements and timelines.

• Pop Culture Awareness: Apply knowledge of mainstream music culture, popular artists, online trends, and contemporary expressions to ensure content resonates with its intended audience.

Requirements:

• Copywriting Experience: Proven experience in copywriting, editing, or content creation, with the ability to produce polished, engaging, and audience-focused written material.

• German Language Proficiency: Native-level fluency in German, with excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, and stylistic awareness.

• Music Content Expertise: Demonstrated experience writing or editing music-related content across multiple genres, with a strong understanding of the language and conventions used in music publishing and digital media.

• Genre Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, and K-Pop, including relevant artists, terminology, cultural references, and evolving trends.

• Contemporary Music Awareness: Strong knowledge of the music industry and current music culture, including the ability to recognise relevant developments and distinguish accurate information from outdated or incorrect references.

• Cultural and Editorial Sensitivity: Ability to adapt content to different musical contexts and audiences while maintaining cultural relevance, authenticity, and a natural tone of voice.

• Pop Culture Fluency: A strong awareness of mainstream and emerging pop culture, including the expressions, references, and trends that resonate with contemporary audiences.

• Attention to Detail: Excellent research, fact-checking, and proofreading skills, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and maintain accuracy across all content.

• Adaptability and Creativity: Ability to adjust writing style and tone to meet different editorial requirements while keeping content engaging, clear, and natural.

• Bonus Experience: Published music-related work in established publications such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME, or comparable outlets.

• Audience-Specific Writing: Experience adapting content for Gen Z audiences and contemporary pop culture communities is an advantage.
