GIR Manager

The Head of Gaming Integrity & Risk is responsible for establishing and developing the company's Gaming Integrity & Risk function, ensuring the identification, prevention, and mitigation of potential risks and fraudulent activities across live gaming operations.

The role focuses on protecting game integrity, strengthening operational security, and implementing effective risk management strategies, monitoring processes, and internal controls across both physical studio and online gaming environments.

Working independently during the initial development phase, the position requires a hands-on approach to building procedures, investigating incidents, and collaborating with relevant departments to maintain a secure, fair, and controlled gaming environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Risk Assessment & Fraud Prevention

• Identify, assess, and monitor potential operational and fraud-related risks across live gaming activities.
• Develop and implement fraud prevention strategies covering both online gaming activities and physical studio operations.
• Analyze suspicious player behavior, betting patterns, and operational irregularities to detect potential fraud or manipulation.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement preventive or corrective measures.
• Monitor emerging fraud trends and continuously improve risk mitigation strategies.

1. Game Integrity & Operational Security

• Ensure the integrity, fairness, and security of live gaming operations.
• Develop and implement game integrity procedures and internal control mechanisms.
• Identify and prevent potential manipulation of gaming equipment, game outcomes, or operational processes.
• Assess risks related to the handling, storage, and use of playing cards, gaming equipment, and other operational materials.
• Collaborate with Studio Operations to monitor procedural compliance and investigate potential irregularities.

1. Security Controls & Monitoring

• Establish and continuously improve internal security, monitoring, and risk control procedures.
• Implement verification mechanisms to detect suspicious activities, procedural violations, and operational vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with Surveillance, Security, IT, and Operations to ensure effective monitoring of gaming activities.
• Review security measures related to restricted studio areas, gaming equipment, and sensitive operational information.
• Recommend improvements to existing monitoring systems and risk detection tools.

1. Incident Management & Investigations

• Investigate suspected fraudulent activities, gaming irregularities, and security incidents.
• Review surveillance footage, gaming records, and operational reports, where authorized, to identify potential misconduct or procedural violations.
• Determine root causes of incidents and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Establish clear incident reporting, documentation, and escalation procedures.
• Collaborate with HR, Legal, Compliance, and Operations when investigations involve employee misconduct or other internal violations.

1. Department Development, Policies & Compliance

• Establish the Gaming Integrity & Risk function from the ground up, including its operational framework, procedures, and control mechanisms.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to fraud prevention, gaming integrity, and operational security.
• Ensure internal risk control procedures align with applicable gaming regulations and company standards.
• Conduct periodic internal reviews, identify compliance gaps, and support relevant audits.
• Collaborate with other departments to promote risk awareness and strengthen internal procedures.

1. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare regular risk assessments, incident reports, and updates for senior management.
• Define and monitor key risk indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of preventive measures.
• Analyze recurring incidents and operational trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Recommend new tools, technologies, and procedures to enhance fraud detection and risk prevention.

 

 

Requirements

• Proven experience in Risk Management, Fraud Prevention, Gaming Integrity, or Operational Security, preferably within the iGaming or Live Casino industry.
• Strong understanding of Live Casino operations, gaming procedures, and associated operational risks.
• Experience in identifying fraud risks, conducting investigations, and implementing internal control mechanisms.
• Ability to independently develop risk management strategies, policies, and operational procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Proactive, hands-on approach and ability to work independently in a developing operational environment.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

 

Nice to Have

• Experience establishing risk management processes or developing a similar function from the ground up.
• Familiarity with surveillance systems, fraud detection tools, and incident management platforms.
• Knowledge of gaming regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL.
• Previous involvement in operational audits, security assessments, or internal investigations.
