About the role
About BLAST
BLAST is a global competitive entertainment company working with some of the world's biggest game publishers, brands and entertainment properties to create world-class esports and live entertainment experiences.
We operate globally across multiple ecosystems, delivering everything from large-scale arena events and broadcasts to digital products and content.
Our values — Make it Bold, Make it Together and Make it Happen — shape how we work, collaborate and deliver.
Welcome to the Global Mobility Team at BLAST!
At BLAST, we bring people together – across borders, stages, and time zones. Now we’re looking for a Global Mobility Consultant to join our team and help us ensure that our people can thrive wherever in the world our events take them.
You’ll be part of a small but passionate team of colleagues, working closely with People and Culture, Travel, Finance, Legal, and Live Events to build and run a world-class mobility framework that supports BLAST’s global growth.
What You’ll Be Doing – Your Impact
As our new Global Mobility Consultant, you’ll make it easier for people to move across borders with confidence – whether they’re employees, freelancers, or part of our extended network.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Acting as an advisor on international hires and postings
- Coordinating with P&O, Payroll, and external vendors (legal, tax, relocation)
- Managing work permit and visa applications, incl. compliance and documentation
- Providing guidance to cross-border employees and freelancers
- Drafting invitation and support letters
- Supporting the expansion of our Global Mobility hub and processes
- Liaising with specialised legal counsels as needed
- Handling admin tasks like budget tracking, PO creation, and updating WIPS
- Taking on other ad hoc tasks as the need arises – flexibility is key!
- Managing portfolio-wide shared services scope across key global operational regions
- Ensuring close cross-departmental collaboration with Travel, People Operations, and Legal
- Serving as the primary coordination point for all international mobility queries and escalation
- Providing dedicated talent and event-specific support for global tournament operations
- Driving process scalability and documentation across global mobility workflows
- High-Volume Event Scaling, managing visa and immigration logistics for large-scale international tournaments involving up to 400 personnel per event (including Third-Country Nationals, employees, and freelancers)
- Reviewing agreements with local partners and drafting special clauses regarding visa support, including negotiating terms, intervention costs, sourcing local vendors/counsel, and handling contract negotiations, term reviews, and cost analysis
- Direct interaction and coordination with immigration authorities, government departments, and local regulatory bodies, rather than solely liaising with external legal counsel.
- Local Entity Compliance & Corporate Service Provider Coordination, overseeing local corporate compliance requirements such as employer registrations, and local tax/social security considerations.
Who You Are – To Succeed in This Role
You're an excellent communicator, a proactive problem-solver, and a trusted partner to your colleagues. You thrive in a dynamic environment, love the details, and care about creating smooth experiences for people on the move.
Requirements
Experience:
- A degree in HR, Business Administration, Legal – or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience with international assignments and cross-border employment particularly in relation to North America and Asia
- Strong understanding of mobility processes and compliance
- Solid experience working with Excel (e.g. data management, formulas, reporting) Proficiency in tools like Smartsheet, Google Sheets, and AI and automation tools and platforms
- Experience providing team leadership, guidance, and mentorship within a small team environment
- Previous background in the sports, entertainment, or fast-paced live events industry, given the scale of international tournaments.
- Demonstrated flexibility, interpretation, and creativity in navigating complex or ambiguous visa regulations across global destinations lacking standardized visa categories.
- Experience with budget tracking, cost control, PO creation, and managing financial considerations related to global mobility and travel.
- Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations, tight event deadlines, and complex logistical escalations independently.
- Strong cross functional stakeholder engagement skills to coordinate seamlessly across all the internal Blast teams as well as external vendors.
- Willingness to work flexible hours during major events or travel occasionally between the London and Copenhagen offices.
