We are seeking a skilled Grant Writer to identify funding opportunities and develop compelling, evidence-based proposals that advance mission-driven programs and services. This role is ideal for a strong writer with nonprofit grant experience who can translate community needs, program plans, and measurable outcomes into persuasive funding requests. Experience supporting a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, or other healthcare nonprofit is strongly preferred. The Grant Writer will collaborate with leadership, program staff, finance, and other partners to
develop competitive applications, coordinate submissions, and support funder reporting.
Essential Duties
• Research foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities; assess eligibility, mission alignment, deadlines, and application requirements.
• Write and edit letters of inquiry, grant proposals, needs statements, program descriptions, work plans, and outcome measures tailored to each funder.
• Prepare applications consistent with applicable funding notices and coordinate with staff responsible for clinical, operational, and compliance information.
• Partner with program and finance staff to develop accurate budgets and budget narratives that align with proposed activities.
• Gather and verify community needs data, service statistics, and program results; translate technical information into clear, persuasive narratives.
• Manage a grant calendar with internal milestones, review assignments, submission deadlines, renewal dates, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate application attachments, partner letters, organizational documents, and required approvals; support timely submissions through funder portals.
• Maintain organized proposal files, reusable content, and a funding pipeline that tracks opportunities, requests, awards, and next steps.
• Support grant reports and renewal applications in collaboration with staff responsible for program implementation and financial reporting

• Demonstrated grant writing experience with a nonprofit organization, including responsibility for developing and coordinating complete proposals.
• Excellent writing, editing, research, and proofreading skills, with the ability to follow detailed funder instructions.
• Experience translating program goals, budgets, and results into clear funding requests.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, organize complex application materials, and obtain input from cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, shared document tools, and online grant submission systems.
• Sound judgment when handling confidential organizational, financial, and client information.
• Relevant education, professional training, or equivalent practical experience in grant development, communications, public health, nonprofit management, or a related field.

applications, as applicable.
• Experience with Grants.gov and HRSA Electronic Handbooks (EHBs).
• Understanding of community health needs, access-to-care barriers, healthcare service delivery, and program evaluation.
• Experience securing foundation, corporate, state, or federal awards and supporting grant renewals and reports.
