Investment Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Investment Analyst based in Ireland.

This is an opportunity to join an international investment fund focused on identifying, launching, and scaling promising digital businesses. The role combines investment research, financial analysis, and deal sourcing, supporting both venture-building initiatives and investments in established companies. You will help identify attractive opportunities, assess business performance, and provide insights that support investment decisions and portfolio development. Working alongside experienced investment and business professionals, you will contribute to projects from early-stage opportunity identification through ongoing portfolio support. The position offers exposure to a diverse range of digital business models and the opportunity to develop practical investment expertise in a fast-paced technology environment. It is particularly suited to an analytical and curious professional interested in entrepreneurship, financial modeling, and business growth.

Accountabilities:

• Identify and source potential investment opportunities, including relevant founders, companies, and prospective deals.

• Conduct fundamental financial analysis to assess business performance and investment potential.

• Build and maintain basic financial models, including cash flow projections and analyses of revenue, expenses, and net profit.

• Analyze the relationships between the three core financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

• Monitor relevant companies, industries, and market developments to identify potential investment opportunities.

• Work with data analytics on investment-related projects, translating findings into useful business insights.

• Support portfolio management processes and contribute to monitoring the performance of existing investments.

• Assist with deal-related activities, research, analysis, and preparation, supporting the investment team throughout the process.

• Contribute to both venture-building initiatives and private equity projects aimed at launching or scaling digital businesses.

Requirements:

• Practical understanding of financial modeling and the ability to work with financial statements and build basic financial models.

• Knowledge of fundamental financial analysis, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow.

• Experience working with data and performing analytical tasks.

• Basic understanding of unit economics and the key metrics used to evaluate business performance.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial information.

• Curiosity about digital businesses, investment opportunities, entrepreneurship, and business growth.

• Ability to research companies and markets and identify relevant investment prospects.

• Proactive, structured, and adaptable approach to working on multiple projects.
