Laborer - Tailman NORTH

American Engineering is seeaking a Laborer/Tailman who assists the crew with daily construction and roadway operations by performing general labor duties, supporting equipment operators, directing traffic when required, and maintaining a safe and productive worksite. This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist crew members with construction, grading, utility, paving, or roadway maintenance activities.
• Perform general labor tasks such as shoveling, raking, lifting, loading, and unloading materials.
• Act as a tailman/groundman by guiding trucks and equipment during backing and maneuvering operations.
• Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices and work zone signage.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with job site preparation, cleanup, and material handling.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and crew members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous construction or roadway work experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety and teamwork.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to work on uneven terrain and around heavy equipment.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
