About the role
Job Description
Operation
- Collect guest laundry, dry-cleaning, and pressing items from guest rooms as per hotel procedures.
- Check laundry bags and verify guest laundry lists for accuracy.
- Count, sort, and classify garments according to fabric type, colour, and washing requirements.
- Tag and record all garments accurately to avoid loss or mix-ups.
- Ensure proper handling of guest garments to prevent damage, stains, or colour transfer.
- Coordinate with the laundry team to ensure timely processing of guest laundry.
- Assist in washing, drying, pressing, folding, and finishing garments as required.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, following standard operating procedures.
- Ensure cleaned garments meet the hotel's quality standards before packing and delivery.
- Deliver guest laundry to rooms within the committed turnaround time.
- Handle express, same-day, and special laundry requests efficiently.
- Coordinate with Front Office for accurate posting of laundry charges.
- Immediately report damaged, missing, or misplaced garments to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of guest laundry transactions and daily activities.
- Ensure proper use and storage of laundry chemicals and cleaning materials.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of the laundry work area.
- Follow proper procedures for handling guest complaints and special garment-care requests.
Qualifications
- Primary school education / Graduation
- Basic oral proficiency in English is preferred.
- Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or garment care is an advantage.
- Knowledge of laundry operations, garment handling, washing, and pressing is desirable.
- No prior experience is required; training will be provided.
