Lead Estimator

CARSTAR Murray’s in Des Moines is hiring a Lead Estimator to lead the estimating team at our busiest shop, a Tesla-only repair center. You’ll guide our estimators, own our insurance carrier relationships and metrics, and set the standard for accurate, complete repair plans on some of the most advanced vehicles on the road. What you’ll do

• Lead, mentor and support our team of estimators
• Review estimates and supplements for accuracy and completeness
• Write complex Tesla estimates, supplements and repair plans in CCC ONE
• Take part in DFR with technicians to capture all needed repairs
• Represent the shop in meetings with insurance carriers
• Own carrier metrics and drive continuous improvement
• Make sure repair plans follow Tesla OEM procedures, DRP guidelines and carrier requirements
• Take part in daily production meetings and partner with shop leadership to keep work moving

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years of collision estimating experience
• Leadership or mentoring experience
• Strong knowledge of DRP programs and insurance carrier metrics
• CCC ONE experience preferred
• Tesla or EV damage analysis experience preferred
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• I-CAR training or industry certifications preferred
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy shop
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

Work environment

• Exposure to paint fumes, dust, chemicals and shop noise
• Conditions may vary with temperature and workload

Physical requirements

• Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods
• Able to inspect vehicles and move around the shop throughout the day
