Report to: Litigation Support Manager
Position overview
Arnall Golden Gregory LLP seeks a Litigation Support Analyst to support the Litigation Support Manager and the firm’s Litigation practice with electronic discovery, document review, and document productions. This hands-on role will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and litigation support vendors to organize case data, support review workflows in Relativity, and prepare accurate, timely productions.
The ideal candidate combines practical Relativity experience with strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and responsive client service. The analyst must be comfortable managing competing deadlines, troubleshooting data issues, and translating litigation team requests into reliable technical workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Document productions: Prepare and execute document productions in Relativity in accordance with approved specifications, discovery agreements, and matter-team instructions. Configure production sets, Bates numbering, confidentiality endorsements, image and native-file outputs, extracted text, and load files.
- Production quality control: Validate production populations and outputs, including document counts, numbering, metadata, redactions, family relationships, and treatment of privileged or excluded documents. Resolve discrepancies, document exceptions, and obtain required attorney and Litigation Manager approvals before release.
- Production delivery and tracking: Package and securely deliver approved productions through authorized channels. Maintain production logs, specifications, delivery records, and reproducible documentation of the steps performed.
- Relativity review support: Assist with workspace setup and maintenance, data imports and exports, saved searches, review batches, coding layouts, and reporting. Support authorized access requests and troubleshoot routine reviewer issues under established procedures.
- Data intake and validation: Coordinate receipt and loading of client data and incoming productions, including work performed by vendors. Check file completeness, metadata mapping, load-file compatibility, and processing exceptions, and escalate issues as needed.
- Litigation team assistance: Help attorneys and paralegals locate, organize, review, and export documents for discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation. Provide practical guidance on Relativity workflows and routine user questions.
- Matter coordination: Track assignments, production deadlines, outstanding issues, and vendor deliverables. Keep the Litigation Manager informed of status, resource needs, and risks that could affect quality or timing.
- Confidentiality and process improvement: Follow firm requirements for confidential information, access controls, secure transfers, and data handling. Maintain checklists and workflow documentation and recommend improvements that reduce errors and manual effort.
Required qualifications
- Relevant experience: Two or more years of litigation support, eDiscovery, or comparable experience in a law firm, legal department, or litigation support service provider.
- Hands-on Relativity skills: Demonstrated experience supporting document review and preparing productions in Relativity, including production setup, execution, export, and quality control. Reviewer-only experience is not sufficient for this role.
- Production knowledge: Working knowledge of common production formats and components, including TIFF/PDF images, native files, extracted text, metadata, and DAT/OPT or comparable load files.
- Discovery workflow knowledge: Familiarity with document processing, review coding, redactions, privilege designations, confidentiality requirements, and document family relationships.
- Accuracy and troubleshooting: Ability to reconcile document counts, identify data and production errors, investigate discrepancies, and clearly document resolutions.
- Organization and communication: Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines, communicate technical issues to nontechnical users, and work effectively with attorneys, paralegals, vendors, and internal support teams.
- Technical proficiency and discretion: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, comfort working with large file sets, and demonstrated care in handling sensitive client and firm information.
Preferred qualifications
- Relativity credentials: Relevant Relativity certification or a willingness to pursue certification.
- Additional technical experience: Familiarity with eDiscovery processing tools, search syntax, regular expressions, or scripting used to validate data or streamline repetitive tasks.
- Broader litigation support: Experience coordinating vendors, supporting deposition and trial preparation, and documenting defensible, repeatable discovery workflows.
- Education: An associate or bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent combination of relevant education and practical experience.
Expectations for success
- Reliable productions: Accurate, well-documented productions completed on schedule and released only after required approvals.
- Responsive support: Timely, clear assistance that helps litigation teams work effectively in Relativity.
- Sound escalation: Early identification of privilege, confidentiality, data-quality, and deadline concerns, with legal decisions reserved for the responsible attorneys.
- Consistent execution: Organized matter records, current production logs, and repeatable processes that support the Litigation Manager.
