About the role
The Opportunity and Your Impact
Every system CEC installs has to work when it matters, whether it be the fire alarm in a school, the network a hospital runs on, or the security that keeps a building safe after hours. As a Systems Specialist, you're the person who makes sure it does.
You'll lead the physical installation of communications systems on project sites, running the day-to-day work, guiding a crew, and holding every job to CEC's standards for safety and quality.
It's hands-on work for people who'd rather be on-site than behind a desk, and the outcomes are rewarding: you see what you've built, and you know it'll perform when someone's counting on it.
Why CEC
CEC started in 1946 as a small Iowa radio shop. Eighty years later, we're a nationally recognized technology integrator. We're still owner-led and people-first, with a mission to help our clients, partners, and employees stay safe, secure, and connected. We commit to our people for the long term, deliver on our promises, compete to win, and have fun along the way.
What You'll Grow Into
"Level Up" is one of our company values, and we mean it, especially in the field. As a Systems Specialist, you'll sharpen your craft on a wide range of systems and technologies, take on more responsibility as you go, and build the kind of expertise that opens doors across the trade. We back that growth with training and certifications you can earn on the job, through our Technical Career Development Program.
What You'll Do
No two projects at CEC look quite the same. You'll lead the daily install plan on-site-keeping the work safe, on schedule, and up to CEC's standards-and guide your crew from the first walk-through to final sign-off. That means confirming locations and spotting hazards, inspecting installations and correcting issues as they come up, handling basic programming and network connections, and closing out each project with testing, customer training, and documentation. You'll also mentor the team along the way and support service tickets and CEC's 24/7 on-call rotation as assigned.

You don't need to check every box. If most of this sounds like you, let's talk.
