About the role
Maintenance Mechanic | Tech I or Tech II
Standlee Anderson | Magic Valley, Idaho
Pay: $21.90 to $29.63 per hour, depending on qualifications
Schedule: Monday through Wednesday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. | Every other Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Help Keep Our Operations Running Strong
At Standlee Anderson, reliable equipment is essential to delivering the quality products our customers count on. We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
We are open to hiring at either the Maintenance Tech I or Tech II level, depending on experience and technical skills. Whether you are building your industrial maintenance career or already have strong experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, there may be a place for you on our team.
You will work closely with Maintenance and Production to troubleshoot equipment, complete preventive maintenance, reduce downtime, and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
This is a great role for someone who takes ownership, enjoys figuring out how things work, and would rather find a solution than simply point out a problem.
What You'll Do
-
Keep equipment running. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment, motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and other mechanical equipment.
-
Troubleshoot problems. Identify the source of mechanical issues by observing equipment, listening for problems, reviewing technical information, and using appropriate testing and measuring instruments.
-
Make effective repairs. Disassemble equipment, replace defective or worn components, adjust mechanical systems, and use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other maintenance equipment to complete repairs safely.
-
Prevent downtime. Identify equipment concerns before they become larger problems and partner with Production to support reliable, efficient operations.
-
Fabricate when needed. Use available shop equipment and tools to fabricate or modify repair parts when appropriate.
-
Support preventive maintenance. Follow maintenance schedules, document completed work, communicate continuing needs, and help ensure equipment receives the care it needs.
-
Improve how we work. Look for opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, safety, and product quality.
-
Keep the team connected. Clearly communicate repairs, equipment concerns, irregularities, and follow up needs so information flows between shifts and teams.
-
Work safely. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established safety procedures when working around machinery and equipment.
What You'll Bring
We can hire this position at the Tech I or Tech II level, so we encourage candidates with different levels of maintenance experience to apply.
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least one year of related maintenance, mechanical, manufacturing, agricultural, automotive, or equipment experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, diagrams, instructions, and technical specifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and equipment
- Dependable, accountable, and able to follow through on assigned work
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with Maintenance, Production, and other teams
Candidates with more advanced industrial maintenance experience, including experience troubleshooting motors, conveyors, pneumatics, bearings, drives, and production machinery, may qualify for the Tech II level.
What Success Looks Like
You will be successful in this role if you:
- Put safety first
- Take ownership of your work
- Respond quickly when equipment problems arise
- Look for root causes rather than temporary fixes
- Help reduce equipment downtime
- Communicate clearly with the people around you
- Support positive changes that improve equipment efficiency and product quality
- Look for ways to continuously improve
- Work as part of One Company, One Team
