Job Summary
Central Plains Cement Company is seeking an experienced, organized, and motivated Maintenance Planner to join our team at our Tulsa manufacturing facility.
The Maintenance Planner plays a key role in supporting plant operations by developing and coordinating maintenance plans, improving equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring maintenance activities are properly prepared for safe and efficient execution.
We are looking for an individual with a strong industrial maintenance background, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented attitude.
Important Position Clarification:
This is primarily a maintenance planning and coordination position, not a traditional Maintenance Supervisor role. The primary focus is planning, scheduling, preparing work packages, maintaining accurate equipment records, and ensuring maintenance activities are ready for execution.
However, there may be occasions when the Maintenance Planner is required to temporarily assume supervisory responsibilities, including coordinating maintenance activities, directing personnel, and overseeing work execution as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a planning capacity while possessing the leadership skills and flexibility necessary to assume supervisory responsibilities when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term maintenance plans and schedules.
- Prepare detailed work packages, including labor estimates, parts, materials, tools, equipment documentation, and safety requirements.
- Plan preventive, predictive, corrective, and major outage maintenance activities.
- Coordinate maintenance priorities and equipment availability with Maintenance and Production leadership.
- Identify potential scheduling conflicts, resource shortages, and job readiness concerns before execution.
CMMS and Equipment Reliability
- Maintain accurate maintenance work orders, equipment records, repair histories, and technical documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Monitor preventive maintenance compliance, maintenance backlog, equipment performance, and reliability indicators.
- Review completed work orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance maintenance efficiency.
- Prepare maintenance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
Coordination and Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Maintenance, Production, Purchasing, Storeroom personnel, contractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate material availability, spare parts requirements, and outside services.
- Support maintenance cost tracking and effective resource utilization.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance planning processes, procedures, and work management practices.
- Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.
Occasional Supervisory Responsibilities
- Temporarily provide direction and oversight to maintenance personnel when assigned.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to established priorities.
- Communicate work expectations, progress, and concerns to Maintenance leadership.
