About the role
Description
Strongward is a long-term disaster recovery organization. We exist to transform disaster from tragedy to strength, equipping the hardest-hit homeowners and communities with the capacity to emerge stronger than before.
Disasters are more frequent and more costly, and the support communities count on has grown less certain. Families are being asked to recover with less help, not more. Two decades of field-tested recovery operations mean Strongward has a proven model ready to scale to meet that need.
We partner with homeowners with the greatest unmet needs after a disaster to rebuild homes and help them find stability again through our recovery services. To do this, we use an innovative approach that draws on our expertise in navigating federal disaster funding, operational efficiencies informed by the Toyota Production System, and our increasing focus on rebuilding to FORTIFIED Home™ standards.
We also believe that effective community recovery begins with preparedness. Through our advisory services, we help smaller communities build local capacity before and after disaster. We provide training and hands-on consulting, so local leaders can build knowledge and recovery systems that stay in place long after outside support ends.
Strongward has helped rebuild or repair more than 6,000 homes after disasters and helped communities secure $100 million in recovery and resilience funding in the past four years. That track record is what makes Strongward a place worth joining.
Here, you become part of one of the few disaster recovery organizations built for what comes after the cameras leave and the immediate response winds down. We help communities prepare for and recover from disaster, so they emerge stronger than before.
