About the role
About the Role
Hillman is looking for a hands-on Manager, Finance to run finance, FP&A and accounting operations for our business unit. You will lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, own product and inventory costing, pricing and profitability, and oversee AR, AP, the general ledger, tax compliance and external audits. You will also support the Customer Service team as needed.
You will lead a team of 3–4 finance professionals and act as the key link between the local business and Corporate Finance, keeping reporting, controls and financial priorities aligned.
Who thrives here: A Senior Finance leader who is equally comfortable closing the books and building a pricing model. You bring sharp problem-solving, expert-level Excel and Power BI skills, and the judgment to move between day-to-day accounting and strategic business partnering.
What You'll Do
Planning, Forecasting & Analysis
Lead the annual budget and periodic forecasts, including rolling forecasts and re-forecasts
Deliver monthly variance analysis (budget vs. actual, forecast vs. actual) and explain the key drivers to business leaders and Corporate Finance
Build and maintain financial models that support business planning, pricing decisions and investment/ROI analysis
Analyze revenue, margin and operating expense trends to surface risks and opportunities
Partner with operational leaders on department-level budgets and KPI tracking
Support long-range strategic planning, including scenario and sensitivity analysis
Prepare board-level and executive reporting packages, including KPI dashboards and financial summaries
Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities through data-driven analysis
Costing, Inventory, Pricing & Profitability
Own inventory management and product costing
Lead customer and item profitability analysis, and set customer pricing and quotes
Review manufacturing processes for efficiency and output, comparing actual costs and performance to standards
Accounting Operations
Oversee end-to-end accounting: AR, AP, the general ledger, and month-end and year-end close
Ensure timely, accurate invoicing, collections, vendor payments and cash application
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements
Monitor cash flow, working capital and AR/AP aging to inform business decisions
Compliance, Tax & Audit
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal tax requirements, including sales tax, income tax filings and other statutory obligations
Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors on filings, provisions and audit requests
Lead the annual external audit: prepare schedules, answer auditor inquiries and keep the timeline on track
Maintain and strengthen internal controls (SOX or equivalent)
Stay current on GAAP and tax changes that affect the business
Team Leadership
Manage, mentor and develop a team of 3–4 finance and accounting professionals (AR, AP and staff accountants)
Set clear goals, run performance reviews and support career growth
Build a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement
Balance workload and secure coverage during peak periods such as month-end, audit and tax season
Business Partnership & Corporate Liaison
Serve as the primary contact between the business unit and Corporate Finance, keeping reporting requirements and communication aligned
Turn corporate policies, timelines and reporting standards into practical guidance for the local team
Give business leaders financial insight and decision support
Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and planning with Corporate Finance
Present financial updates to senior leadership as needed
What You'll Bring
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (CPA designation is an asset)
5–8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with strong FP&A exposure: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modeling
Solid grounding in full-cycle accounting: AR/AP, general ledger and close processes
2+ years directly managing or supervising a team
Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance and audit processes, with experience managing or supporting external audits
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, Power BI, and experience with ERP/accounting systems (Epicor is an asset; NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or similar also valued)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise between local business teams and corporate stakeholders
Preferred
CPA, CMA or equivalent professional certification
Experience in a multi-entity or corporate-subsidiary reporting structure
Familiarity with tax software and audit management tools
Experience with process improvement or systems implementation projects
Key Competencies
Leadership and team development
Attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Prioritization across competing deadlines such as close, audit and tax filings

Range to work tactically (daily accounting) and strategically (business partnering)

401(k) with company match
Paid time off and holidays
Professional development and career growth opportunities
