We serve all WI tribes by providing administration of grant-funded programs either directly or with sub grants. Programs serve a range of functions from Children to Elders. Our Mission is: To Enhance the quality of life for all Native People.

N CREW Program Coordinator

Culturally grounded, trauma-informed solutions are essential for reducing substance use and mental health conditions related to long-standing structural inequalities and social determinants of health. To address this growing need and in alignment with priorities (Drug Crisis, Mental/Behavioral Health, and Healthcare) identified in their strategic plan, Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council, Inc. (GLITC) is working on constructing an Adolescent Recovery and Wellness Center (ARWC) in Shawano County, northeast Wisconsin. The ARWC is a 36-bed residential facility that will provide culturally relevant services and responsive residential substance abuse treatment for Native American youth, ages 13-17, who are suffering from substance use disorder (SUD) and any co-occurring mental health conditions. To support this initiative, GLITC is developing a research program, which will inform the creation of a person-centered, culturally specific approach to healing and the integration of Tribal wellness practices within healthcare services.
