About the role
At Jered, a PAR Systems Company and leader in engineered solutions for naval and maritime systems, our Quality Inspection team plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, precision, and reliability. We are expanding our Inspection team and looking for a detail-oriented NDT Level I Technician who is eager to develop technical expertise, gain hands-on inspection experience, and pursue certifications in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
In this role, you'll support the inspection and testing of components to verify conformance with engineering drawings, product specifications, and quality requirements. You'll gain experience with dimensional inspections, paint inspections, assembly inspections, and system testing while learning specialized inspection methods and equipment. At Jered, your work doesn't just ensure product quality, it helps deliver reliable equipment that supports mission-critical naval and maritime operations.
Success Criteria:
As an NDT Level I Technician, you'll spend most of your time learning and performing various inspection techniques to ensure components and assemblies meet established quality standards. You'll conduct dimensional, paint, and assembly inspections, support in-process and receiving inspections, and witness component and system testing to verify compliance with documented procedures.
The most successful team members bring strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a solid foundation in mathematics, science, and mechanical drawing interpretation. You'll develop hands-on experience using inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures, magnetic particle testing equipment, and paint thickness gauges while maintaining accurate inspection records and following established quality procedures.
Success in this role means developing the technical knowledge and practical experience necessary to progress toward NDT Level II certification. You'll complete required on-the-job training in Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), preparing you to perform MIL-SPEC weld inspections while supporting the continued quality and reliability of Jered's products.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic understanding of mechanical component drawings
Good mathematics and science background
U.S. Citizen or Green Cardholder
Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment while following site safety requirements and wearing required personal protective equipment
Ability to reach with hands and arms, stand, and walk frequently
Ability to meet required visual acuity testing standards
Ability to lift 25 pounds or more
US Persons
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with basic hand measuring tools, including tape measures and combination squares
Current or previous NDT certifications
