Responsibilities & Requirements
The Patient Transport II role supports patient care and operational reliability by safely transporting patients, equipment, and specimens throughout the healthcare facility. This position ensures timely, compassionate service while adhering to safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Work Experience:
- None required
- experience in a healthcare or customer service setting preferred.
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
Skills:
- Ability to safely transfer and transport patients using appropriate equipment
- effective verbal communication and customer service skills
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- basic computer or mobile device navigation
- awareness of infection control and safety protocols
- ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- ability to respond calmly in emergency situations
- physical ability to push, pull, and lift within role requirements.
