About the role
About the role
We are looking for an associate attorney who can own a litigation caseload and move cases forward without day-to-day supervision. You will work directly with the founding attorney and alongside our case managers, paralegals, and pre-litigation team. You will be trained hands-on in our premises liability approach, where the fight is about liability rather than injuries.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury litigation matters on your own, from filing through resolution.
- Develop case strategy, with a focus on proving liability.
- Draft and file complaints, pleadings, motions, oppositions, and meet-and-confer letters.
- Handle every phase of written discovery: interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
- Review discovery responses for deficiencies and case strategy.
- Take and defend party depositions.
- Meet every California court rule, procedure, hearing, and deadline.
- Supervise paralegals and litigation staff on your cases.
Requirements
Must-Have
- 5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience.
- Able to handle an auto accident case A to Z without supervision.
- Strong command of California civil procedure and discovery.
- Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions yourself, rather than handing that work off to paralegals.
- Active California State Bar license.
- Stable work history.
Nice-to-Have
- Premises liability experience. It is not required, because we will train you.
- Arbitration and mediation experience.
Not required: trial experience.
