Summary
Job Description:
Phlebotomist II
Full-Time, 2nd Shift (12:30p-9:00p)
*Must be able to work every other weekend, and rotating holiday schedule
Collect blood samples from patients for medical testing, transfusions, research, or blood donations. Work closely with patients, nurses, and laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely specimen collection while maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety.
Job Details:
- Greet patients warmly and establish rapport to alleviate anxiety and ensure their comfort throughout the blood collection process.
- Perform venipuncture using aseptic techniques to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, utilizing appropriate equipment and supplies.
- Follow established procedures and protocols for specimen collection, handling, and processing to maintain the quality and accuracy of test results.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, patients, and family members to ensure a smooth and efficient blood collection process.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy training program preferred.
