Press Operator

Overview

Norsland Lefse is hiring a Press Operator to run our heated lefse press. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with equipment, pays attention to detail, and keeps a steady pace.

Your work keeps the lefse production line moving. You’ll load and operate the press, monitor product quality, and learn to recognize and troubleshoot issues. Previous press operation or manufacturing experience is helpful, including experience with presses outside food production, but is not required—we’ll train you.

What you’ll do

• Load dough into the heated lefse press accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the press safely and consistently, following established procedures.
• Monitor the press and the lefse it produces, watching for quality concerns or changes in equipment performance.
• Learn to identify common operating issues and make routine adjustments within your training.
• Promptly report equipment problems, quality concerns, or production delays to your supervisor.
• Maintain a steady pace while coordinating with teammates to meet daily production goals.
• Keep the press and surrounding work area clean and organized, including completing daily cleanup tasks.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Help with other production tasks as needed.

• Interest in learning how the press works and recognizing when something needs attention.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently after training while coordinating with the production team.
• Willingness to learn, take feedback, and improve.
• Previous press operation, equipment operation, food production, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.

Physical requirements

While the press operator role does not require the heavy lifting associated with dough production, this position involves the repetitive loading and handling of dough and working around heated equipment. 

Applicants must be able to perform the essential duties of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule and pay

Weekday daytime production shifts, with a typical start time of 7:00 a.m. Specific hours and days will be discussed during the hiring process.

Pay: $16–$18 per hour, depending on experience.
