Role Purpose

The Senior SAP SD Consultant serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for SAP Sales & Distribution (SD), responsible for designing, implementing, enhancing, and supporting end-to-end Order-to-Cash (OTC) solutions. This role partners with business stakeholders to optimize sales, logistics, and billing processes while ensuring seamless integration across the SAP landscape.

The consultant drives process standardization, automation, system enhancements, and digital transformation initiatives, leveraging deep SAP SD expertise to deliver scalable, efficient, and business-aligned solutions that support organizational growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

SAP SD Solution Design & Delivery

• Lead the design, configuration, enhancement, and support of SAP SD solutions across the Order-to-Cash (OTC) lifecycle.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Design and implement solutions supporting:
  • Sales Order Management
  • Delivery Processing
  • Shipping and Transportation
  • Billing and Invoicing
  • Returns Management
  • Customer Master Data Management
• Recommend best practices and drive standardization of SAP SD processes across the organization.

Order-to-Cash (OTC) Process Management

• Serve as the functional lead for OTC business processes and solution enhancements.
• Optimize sales fulfillment, pricing, billing, and logistics execution processes.
• Support revenue-generating business operations by ensuring efficient end-to-end order processing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process simplification, automation, and operational efficiency.

Pricing, Billing & Revenue Management

• Design and support complex pricing procedures, condition techniques, and pricing determination processes.
• Configure and maintain rebate structures, discounts, surcharges, and promotional pricing models.
• Support billing, invoicing, account determination, and revenue-related integration requirements.
• Ensure compliance with business policies and financial controls related to sales and revenue processes.

Cross-Functional Integration

• Ensure seamless integration between SAP SD and other SAP modules, including:
  • SAP MM (Materials Management)
  • SAP QM (Quality Management)
  • SAP PP (Production Planning)
  • SAP PS (Project Systems)
  • SAP FI/CO (Financial Accounting and Controlling)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated business solutions.
• Support end-to-end process flows spanning sales, procurement, production, logistics, and finance functions.

Integration & Interface Management

• Design, support, and troubleshoot integrations involving:
  • IDocs
  • EDI Interfaces
  • Third-Party Applications
  • Middleware Platforms
  • External Customer and Vendor Systems
• Ensure stable and secure information exchange across enterprise applications.
• Work with technical teams to resolve integration issues and improve interface performance.

Technical Analysis & Development Support

• Perform detailed root cause analysis of complex business and technical issues.
• Utilize ABAP debugging skills to validate system behavior and identify defects.
• Develop comprehensive functional specifications for system enhancements.
• Coordinate RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) development with technical teams.
• Validate technical solutions against business requirements.

Testing & Deployment Support

• Lead testing activities throughout project and enhancement lifecycles.
• Prepare and execute:
  • Unit Testing
  • System Integration Testing (SIT)
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Regression Testing
• Coordinate defect remediation and testing sign-off activities.
• Support deployment planning, cutover execution, and post-go-live stabilization activities.

Production Support & Incident Management

• Provide Level 3 functional support for SAP SD production environments.
• Investigate and resolve high-priority incidents, defects, and application issues.
• Ensure timely resolution of service requests in accordance with defined SLAs.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring issues.
