Project Manager – Asbestos Abatement

Our environmental services division, Southeast Environmental, is needing a Project Manager to oversee the lifecycle of environmental remediation and abatement projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and profitable execution. This role serves as the controlling authority on worksites, responsible for comprehensive project planning, estimation, client communication, subcontractor management, and strict adherence to federal (EPA, OSHA), state, and local environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-construction site walks and visual inspections to assess the scope of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and overall hazard profiles.
• Assist with accurate, competitive estimates and formal proposals based on field measurements and industrial hygiene reports.
• Directly manage abatement crews and subcontractors, ensuring all personnel are properly certified, fit-tested, and trained for the specific scope of work.
• Procure specialized equipment, PPE, and materials required for containment and safe removal.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for property owners, facility managers, and insurance adjusters, providing regular progress updates and managing change orders.

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred.
• Direct experience with project management specifically in asbestos abatement or environmental remediation.
• Direct experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Tennessee Asbestos Supervisor Certification (Active/Current).
• Tennessee Asbestos Inspector Certification (Active/Current).
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check, drug screen, and clean driving record; subject to applicable law.
