What You Will Be Doing
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Quality Engineer to support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across Acushnet’s Custom Ball and Packaging Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for driving quality improvements, reducing process variation, and ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations and internal quality standards. You will partner closely with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to reduce defects, customer returns, quality exceptions, logo overruns, and make-ups while supporting the achievement of established quality performance goals. You will analyze and report quality data through quality management systems and Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies, providing insights that drive operational improvements and informed decision-making. As an active participant in quality-focused teams, including Quality Steering Committee activities and Quality Initiative Program projects, you will help lead efforts focused on process optimization, cost reduction, and product quality enhancement. Additionally, you will support continuous improvement initiatives by conducting root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and driving sustainable process improvements across Custom and Packaging operations. The Quality Engineer will also assist with Change Notice reviews, documentation updates, and compliance audits to ensure adherence to established procedures and quality requirements. You will collaborate with stakeholders to review and maintain quality standards, specifications, testing requirements, and operating procedures while supporting Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement efforts. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on product quality, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction within a highly collaborative manufacturing environment.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification, ASQ certification, or formal quality coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality, quality assurance, or quality engineering role.
- Experience utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and establishing sampling plans.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems, quality reporting tools, and data analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated experience supporting process improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skills with the ability to implement effective corrective actions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
- Experience with pad printing, inkjet printing, and computer graphics is a plus. Ability to work regularly within a manufacturing environment and be exposed to conditions including dust, noise, heat, and chemicals while adhering to all safety requirements.
