Radiology Assistant-Full Time

Performs a variety of duties to support Radiologist and Radiology department communication. Communicates non-critical results to referring providers at Radiologist request. Triages messages and requests for Radiologist review based on established criteria and communicates to both Radiologists and referring providers as needed. Functions as a liaison between ED, OR, and other hospital departments and appropriate Radiology section to relay information, marshal resources, and coordinate service as needed. Assigns routine outpatient exams to radiologists on service daily based on established algorithm.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous Customer Service Experience
• Previous Customer-based communication skills
• Previous Knowledge of electronic based systems
• CPR certified or obtained within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher
• One or more years’ experience in a health care setting collaborating with medical teams and Providers

• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
• Ability to meet consistent and punctual attendance.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with providers, technologists, nurses, and patients face to face.
• Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages.
• Critical thinker with ability to problem solve when the need arises
• Ability to provide proper care based on patient age or physical/mental status.
